The tall neon sign at this roadside restaurant may have had original sign elements removed. Two columns
would have been enough to support the sign as it appears today. The "RESTAURANT" sign may have been very impressive when it was originally constructed.

This is an outstanding masonry building on Old Route 66 known as the Johnson Building. It must have
served as a freight depot of some kind because there is a small railroad yard near the west side of the building.
9.

 |
View of the east side of the Johnson Building. The building may still be used for some kind of storage because
it is still in very good condition.

Close up view of east side of Johnson Building. As a guess this building was built at the turn of the 20th century. The green paint is a shade that is typically
found on pre-World War I buildings.

View of a corner of the east side portico. This building should be on the National Register of Historic Buildings.
This is probably the only building of it's kind in this region.

View of the west side of the Johnson Building. There may have been a railroad spur leading to the portico/dock on this side of the building.
There is no evidence of buried or half buried tracks on this side of the building.

 |
Straight-on view of the large portico/dock door on the west side of the building. This gem of a building should simply be left alone to age gracefully - as it has.
